Surrealism was started by a poet named Andre Breton who’s view on life motivated artist like Yves Tanguy to paint unreal objects that looked like something from a dream which maybe because of the unkindness of world war one that was going on at that time. Surrealism began in the 1920’s and became very popular in the 1970s by the famous Salvador Dali. The world is full of many types of artist yet their minds are usually in a surreal state in order to stimulate others to know and enjoy their well thought out work. Today more artists who paint are into fantasy art rather than surrealism yet the surreal is still alive every night in dreams.
